Our latest Alexander Valley vintage is underway as our vines are showing the beginnings of new buds, and with them the hopes of another magnificent vintage. Good healthy rainfall has brought our water averages pretty close to normal, so there are no concerns on that front. Our pruning is done and now we get to watch and wait. Once growth takes a hold, the shoots will skyrocket with incredible vigor, and there will be measurable growth on a daily basis. In the cellar, the hard work is done, the wines have been made, and are now aging gracefully in the barrels until bottling time. Having sampled the barrel juices, there are some fine wines on the horizon.
This is a time of year when many of the sales are over, the last of our closing vintages are gone, and new releases are brought to the marketplace. Our wine club members get all the new releases first, and then if there is enough of a supply they go to general release. Visit our order pages to see the latest releases available for your pleasure. Barrel tastings have heralded our futures releases too, the powerful 2006 deLorimier “Crazy Creek” Cabernet, and the 2006 Mosaic “deLorimier Estate” Cabernet Franc. Those in the know are securing their orders for these soon to be ready wines at great discount prices, and you can get yours too by going to the order page. Make an appointment to visit the winery, and if you are interested in ordering some of these futures wines for your cellar we can make arrangements for a private barrel tasting by request.
